I've been fishing with Mike since the Fall Beginner's Class of 2006. Previous
to taking Mike's classes I spent many hours on the river by myself trying to
figure out the art and sport of fly fishing. I enjoyed my time on the river,
but I rarely caught fish...I had the desire to catch fish, but I lacked the
knowledge of how to do it. Since 2006, I've taken all of Mike's classes,
including a trip to Alaska in 2010. He is an excellent teacher....in
fact, he was my teacher at DHS back in 1997! I'm not aware of any other
program or class available in our area that will get you into fly fishing as
quickly or deeply as the Beginning Class that Mike teaches.
All
of Mike's classes, especially the Beginner's Class, are fun! You get
to meet a lot of great people who also enjoy fishing, and everyone helps each other
out while on the river. Being a "Red Hat" has brought a new and exciting
aspect to fly fishing for me. I honestly have just as much (or more) fun watching
and helping Mike's new students catch fish as I do while I'm fishing w/
my own rod.
